This 2015 VMworld party was off the charts. Last year it was barely ok.. And we didn’t really like but this year was a completely different story!
Busses picked up attendees – yes you have to have a pass and a guest pass valid for concert only costed somewhere around 300$ is what I was told.
We then headed to the Att center where Neon trees and Alabama Shakes rocked the house.
There were plenty of games and rides and yes alcohol was free too including food. Wine and beer flowed like water!
And surprise surprise there was a skating rink inside as well! I fell a number of times. Enjoy the pics and the verdict was that this party was certainly better than before! Good job VMware!
Funny. I’ve asked myself that same qiostuen. Thinking about the reasons you give:- I want to show off that titleI know a few people who likes to show off however, they are not the nicest people and I wouldn’t hire them, just because they are VCDX certified – I want to increase my market valueFunny, until now I’ve never met a manager (except my own, since I do tell what its about) who knows what VCDX is and how it is obtained. So market value, sorry, not going to work. However, VCP is the word EVERYBODY knows!- I want to validate that I am able to create solid VMware designsDo you need validation for that. Create a design, live by it, and see if it is successful. If it isn’t, then you know you can improve. But every customer is different and each need different approaches. But again, do you really need to go through the whole certification path? No, I think there is even more to it experience, dedication – My boss wants to certify that we have employees that can create solid VMware designsYou should be able to do that without VCDX.- I want to prove that I can do more than just administration of (large) VMware farmsI can imagine if you’re stuck’ in your current position and need to prove you can do better, the VCDX might help. However, if there is not a better position available even getting VCDX is not going to help: even worse you’ll be frustrated still doing administration work while you are able to make cool designs.- I’d like to get the cool VCDX shirt since I’m running thin on VMworld sponsor shirtsOMG!For me, I think I pass up the VCDX at this moment. However, the main reason for me would be the challenge. After VCP, VCAP-DCA, DCD, this would be the most logical next step.
